ADA portable toilets in Dallas are larger units that sit at ground level, with room to turn a wheelchair and grab bars inside. Under the 2010 ADA Standards, 5 percent of the portable toilets clustered at each location must be accessible and marked with the International Symbol of Accessibility.
How Many You Need
Fractions round up to the next whole unit under the ADA Standards, so a group of up to 20 units needs at least 1 accessible unit, and 21 to 40 units need 2.
| Units in the group | Accessible units |
|---|---|
| 1 to 20 | 1 |
| 21 to 40 | 2 |
| 41 to 60 | 3 |
Placement
Put accessible units on firm, level ground along the main path, not at the far end of the row.
Price
Published national cost guides put an accessible unit at about $150 to $225 for a day.
